Blue light is a spectrum of light that is naturally produced by the sun during the day. Blue light helps keep you alert and awake. However, it’s also produced artificially by screens and lighting which is subjecting us to far more blue light than nature intended.

Blue Light exposure at night greatly effect’s your ability to have a good night’s sleep. Research has shown that blue light exposure at night, especially from our phones and TV’s, essentially tricks your brain into thinking it’s day time.

HOW DOES BLUE LIGHT PROTECTION WORK?

Blue light blocking protection works by filtering out harmful spectrums emitted from artificial light.

There are 4 different levels of filtering:

  • Clear Lenses (Blocks 40% Violet Light)

  • These are great for use during the day while using your computer with little to no colour distortion. They are ideal for relieving digital eye strain and improving energy and focus during the daytime.
  • Yellow Lenses (Blocks 100% Violet Light)

  • Again great for use during the day while working indoors in front of a computer screen. Blocks out more blue light than clear so is more ideal for longer periods of exposure while still allowing you to remain productive.
  • Orange Lenses (Blocks 100% Blue Light)

  • These are great when used at dusk when the sun begins to go down. They are great for letting your body know it’s night time and assisting it with its natural circadian rhythm. They help prevent blue light from affecting your sleep and can help with you winding down.
  • Red Lenses (Blocks 100% Blue & Most Green Light)

  • As the sun descends below the horizon each night, the sky emits warm colours until it’s completely dark out. Red lenses create a similar effect by essentially blocking out blue, green and violet light all of which have been shown to disrupt sleep. These are ideally worn 1 – 2 hours before bed.
